The Decision Support System for Youth Well-Being (DSS-YWB) provides an integrated set of tools to enable individuals and/or groups to spend limited resources in an accountable, responsible, and sustainable fashion. This system is intended to act as a 'smart notebook' and 'group memory' for making, recording, and tracking decisions about school-based interventions intended to influence the prevalence of adolescent healthy and harmful behaviors.
The DSS-YWB can be used to assess the well being of a group of adolescents for whom decision makers are responsible, choose behaviors to influence, compare and select programs relevant to the behaviors of interest, and produce/maintain a plan that documents the consequences of these decisions across time. The system brings together all of the necessary tools to support these decisions in a feedback loop.
| Components of the feedback loop, accessed by the tabs at the top of the page, give users the ability to: |
Explore measures of the prevalence of healthy and harmful behaviors for a chosen group. |
Choose behaviors to change and set targets for the degree of change desired. |
Compare and choose programs relevant to the chosen behaviors, based on agency ratings and the real world experiences of actual users. |
Assess the effect of the programs on the behaviors with respect to the targets and make changes if required. |
Record and report the plans and outcomes to third parties. |
